This month’s competition is inspired by this little poem sent in by Gav Duggan (UK)...

What is it in your arms,
When in your arms it starts to purr?
Methinks it’s not a pussycat,
But an angel dressed in fur.

So for your chance to win a Simon’s Cat 2013 Calendar, a Family Organiser and an A5 Diary, compose your own original poem about Simon’s Cat.

It can be based on any of the films, characters or images from the books.

To be eligible it needs to;

• * Be about Simon’s Cat
• * Be humorous or cute
• * And in the spirit of Simon’s Cat

   

  The poem also needs to be;

  
  * Suitable for all ages (so no inappropriate language!)
  * Written in English (to make judging easier)
  * Under 200 characters in length

  Alternatively, if you would prefer not to open a Simon’s Cat website account, the competition can be entered via email. To do this, email your poem to contact@simonscat.com with ‘Poem Competition’ in the subject line.

   

  All entries must be received by Midnight on Thursday 31st January 2013.
  
  Remember, only ONE entry per person, so make sure you submit your best poem. Any additional entries will be disregarded.

  1. A cat of pure white once was drawn
  Who liked to bug Simon at dawn
  When wake he did not, with baseball bat he was got,
  "Wasn't me", said the cheeky cat's yawn.
  
  2. One morning Simon was deep asleep,
  When awoken by his cat.
  He was forced to stop counting sheep,
  When hit with a baseball bat!
